‘Meow Instagram’: Michelle Pfeiffer Joins Social Media with a Purr-fect Throwback
Michelle Pfeiffer‘s joined Instagram and her first post is purr-fect!
The 60-year-old actress shared her first social media post on Wednesday with a major throwback that saw the return of one of her most beloved characters: Catwoman from 1992’s Batman Returns.
“MEOW Instagram,” Pfeiffer cheekily wrote in the caption. The video she shared was from a scene in the film in which she memorably backflips to Michael Keaton’s Batman and Danny DeVito’s Penguin.
“Meow,” she says in the clip as a building explodes behind her.
Her Instagram account is just the beginning of what will be a big year for the Ant-Man and the Wasp actress.
Pfeiffer will reprise her role of Janet Van Dyne in this year’s Avengers: Endgame, the highly-anticipated sequel to last year’s Avengers: Infinity War.
She’ll also play Queen Ingrith in 2020’s Maleficent 2 alongside Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning.
The star has made a comeback in recent years since she stepped away from the camera to raise her two children. Pfeiffer admitted the slate of films she starred in in 2017 — mother!, Murder on the Orient Express and Where Is Kyra? —was a bit of a scheduling accident.

“I’m an empty nester now,” she told Interview in 2017. “I’ve never lost my love for acting. I feel really at home on the movie set. I’m a more balanced person, honestly, when I’m working. But I was pretty careful about where I shot, how long I was away, whether or not it worked out with the kids’ schedule.”
As her kids grew up, Pfeiffer “took for granted how nice it was to not be under the spotlight,” she told the New York Times at the time. “I remember thinking, ‘Do I really want to step back into [acting]?’ And I just realized that I’m not done. I have a lot more to do and a lot more to say. I’m never going to be one that retires.”
