Megan McKenna breaks silence on celebrity X Factor series: ‘I love that show’

Former TOWIE bombshell Megan McKenna appeared on Loose Women today and spoke about a number of topics, including ex-boyfriend Mike Thalassitis’ death and her music.

But the 26-year-old also touched upon the celebrity version of The X Factor, which was confirmed earlier this year.

Sadly, it doesn’t look like Megan has signed on the dotted line just yet – but surely there’s time?

She told the panel: “I’d seen [the rumours] as well.

“I do love that show, it’s amazing”

“I mean, I love that show. But I don’t know anything about that. But I do love that show, it’s amazing.”

Last year, Megs released her debut album Story of Me, which charted at No6 on the UK Country chart.

The album included singles High Heeled Shoes and Far Cry from Love, which were released after her solo reality show There’s Something About Megan in 2017.

Megan told Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Chizzy Akudolu and Saira Khan: “Since I was little, I’ve always just done auditions, I went to theatre school.”

Speaking about her music, she added: “That is what I’ve wanted. I love doing TV, but this is my dream and I’m not going to give up, I’m not going to stop until I get there.

“I don’t regret everything, the TV shows I’ve done. I feel like it’s all part of me. It’s always a story, and with country music, you’ve got to have a story.

“I feel like every TV show I’ve done, I’ve kind of tried to sing on it as much as I can. On TOWIE, I did some singing things, on Big Brother I did singing things.”

Megan’s fans are used to seeing her uber-glam, swigging cocktails in fancy bars and clubs – a far cry from her country music vibes.

She explained: “I love the fact it’s telling a story, it’s so lyrical.

“When you go out to Nashville, before you perform each song you tell the story and how you felt writing it.”

And it sounds like Megan could be set for major success, as she added: “I’ve been told before, you’ve got to be different or the first and I’m definitely different – I’m an Essex girl singing country music.”

Loose Women continues weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
