Mark Wright knew 'lazy and moody' wife Michelle Keegan was ‘The One’ as soon as he met her

MARK Wright was once the ultimate bachelor but ditched his womanising ways when he laid eyes on wife Michelle Keegan – who he knew was was ‘The One’ as soon as he met her.

So who better to dish out love advice and help other singletons get hitched than Mark, as he returns to our screens as host of The Bachelor UK.

The couple first started dating in late 2012 before marrying in 2015, transforming Mark's life from the ultimate bachelor on The Only Way is Essex to a loving husband.

Now Mark is taking what he's learned into his role as the host of The Bachelor to help Alex Marks meet his own dream woman.

Alex, 31, will have his pick of 17 women on the Channel 5 show, but did he appreciate advice from a married man?

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Mark said: "Well I think the question was how did you do it?

"What was the tips and what was the goal of getting your wife and marrying and having a happy marriage?

"I was single once, and I was kind of a lad back in the day, there's no denying that, and like he has been. But he now wants what I've got, marriage."

Mark went on to reveal how he know Michelle, 31, was the woman for him.

He said: "My mum always told me, always said, when you know, you will know. And literally, I just knew.

"I mean, I knew I really liked her as soon as I met her but after a while I knew this is the girl that, yeah, this is the one.

"You just feel it, the energy is just there, you can't get them out of your head."

However Mark is well aware that no-one is perfect, and joked his other half is "lazy and moody" during a recent chat with Heart FM.

He said: "She is the most lazy person when she’s off. She’s so tired all the time.”

Teasing that he might call the Our Girl actress sleeping beauty, Mark joked he liked to give his “moody” wife a full twenty minutes before speaking to her.

He laughed: “In the morning, at least for the first twenty minutes I don’t say a word.
“I get her a coffee, and then I walk out the room and leave her to be because she’s moody in the morning."

But joking aside, Mark is thrilled to be back in the UK, after quitting his role on US entertainment show Extra last month to be back by his wife's side.

However he's still ambitious when it comes to his career despite leaving the US, telling us: "I just I'm quite relentless really, obviously love and family is first, but I did ask the question 'why am I so driven? why do I want to work so hard and get everything?' and someone said to me 'because everybody's heart has to be filled with what fills their heart'.

"One massive chunk of my heart is my ambition, and my passion to work and succeed.

"So if I'm not fulfilling that, then that leaves me unhappy.

"Likewise if I don't have friends, or family. It's just part of my nature, I just want to do everything, I just want to work hard.

"The tough bit was learning how to balance."

The Bachelor UK starts tonight at 10pm on Channel 5.
