Who is in the cast of Line of Duty series 6?
DCI Joanne Davidson- Kelly MacDonald
Kelly MacDonald is this year’s guest star in Line of Duty.
MacDonald plays the role of DCI Joanne Davidson, the senior investigating officer of the unsolved murder of Gail Vella (Andi Osho).
However, Joanne attracts the attentions of AC-12 for all of the wrong reasons.
MacDonald is well known for playing Diane in Trainspotting in 1996 and Margaret Thompson in Boardwalk Empire.
She is also well known for her role as Anna Dean in The Victim, starring alongside John Hannah and Sarah in Girl/Haji.
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press about joining the cast of Line of Duty, MacDonald said she found it difficult to get used to the show’s lingo.
She said: “The shock really was when I was sent the first episode, which was pretty much at the same time I got, I found out that I’d been offered this part so and my agent sent me the episode and I started reading it on a train, it was on a train up to Glasgow from London. And then, and I was happily reading and then suddenly, it was just, it’s like, there’s a massive, long screed of dialogue about stuff that I’ve never heard, okay. And then I turned the page and it kept going. I was like, well, she’s just talking about it, what is she talking about and, and it went on and on and on.
“it’s so compelling, and the character was so great. And, you know, there was almost no doubt in my mind that I was going to see yes, but I did have to get over that obstacle in my mind because I knew that was going to be quite challenging.”

Most recently, she starred as Rose Dietl in the BBC dram Roadkill, opposite Hugh Laurie.
Reflecting on her first time on the Line of Duty set, Brune-Franklin said: “I remember walking onto the set and seeing the glass box [interview room] and there was part of me that wanted to fangirl and scream.
“The other half was thinking that I had been hired to do a job, you need to calm down and do justice to the scene.
“I was quite surprised at how quickly I felt I was part of it but I still do feel like a fangirl.”
PC Farida Jatri- Anneika Rose
Also joining the cast of Line of Duty is Anneika Rose as PC Farida Jatri.
Rose is best known for her role as Lila Shariff in Channel 4’s Ackley Bridge.
