Kevin Hart Will Get Serious in ‘Fatherhood’ for Director Paul Weitz
STX Entertainment
Are you ready to take Kevin Hart seriously?
The comedian who just had the number one box-office film last week with “The Upside,” will play a grieving widower and single father in the film “Fatherhood” for director Paul Weitz (“About a Boy”).
The busy actor, who just lined up a “Monopoly” film (but definitely isn’t hosting the Oscars) will begin shooting “Fatherhood” after he wraps up the “Jumanji” sequel.
“Fatherhood” is based on the Matt Logelin bestseller “Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss & Love,” about a man who must raise his daughter by himself after his wife dies in childbirth. (So no, it has nothing to do with the 1987 Bill Cosby book, also titled “Fatherhood.”)
Sony is beginning a nationwide search for the actress to play Hart’s daughter.
