Kate Middleton’s sheer dress on catwalk revealed in first-look at final The Crown episodes

Kate Middleton's iconic sheer dress look during her fashion show catwalk at St Andrews University has been revealed in the latest season of The Crown, as Netflix has released a slew of new stills from the final episodes in the last season.

The risqué outfit for the now Princess of Wales, 41, has become etched in royal fans' memories as it was said to be around the time that Prince William, who was then 19, fell for his uni pal.

Actress Meg Bellamy can be seen in a see-through mesh dress as she portrays the Princess of Wales in season six part two of the critically-acclaimed period drama, in a moment often referred to as the one when William first became smitten with Kate.

First-look images released by Netflix will introduce newcomers Ed McVey as Prince William, Meg as Kate Middleton and Luther Ford as Prince Harry.

The princess is depicted wearing a sheer black and blue dress in one of the images, with another shows a young William and Kate talking to each other in a room.

The two actors are the spitting image of the couple, meaning royal fans are giddy with excitement to watch the dramatisation of real-life events unfold.

As a university student, Kate first caught the attention of William when she strode down the catwalk in the sheer dress for a charity fashion show.

In 2001, the duo lived a few doors apart at St Salvator’s hall of residence at St Andrews in Fife and quickly became friendly.

Amid studying and attending lectures, William and Kate also started socialising together and attending parties of mutual friends.

The pair also played tennis together around the same time.

Kate captured the prince's attention in March 2002 when he forked out £200 for a front-row seat at the fashion show, where Kate appeared in a see-through lace dress which revealed her black underwear.

As well as telling a fictional story of how the now-beloved royal couple met and fell in love, the final part of the hugely-popular glossy drama will feature a number of other events from the late 90s and early 2000s.

Dominic West, who plays Prince Charles (now King Charles) in the series, appears in a still alongside the actors playing Harry and William, during a skiing trip.

As the trio wear their ski gear at the bottom of a mountain and plaster on smiles for the snap, it appears the scene is depicting a moment when Charles was heard whispering and complaining about the press and photographers.

Imelda Staunton is also depicted in her role as Queen Elizabeth II and stands alongside Sir Jonathan Pryce, who plays the late monarch's husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Part one of the Netflix series, which explored the events surrounding the death of Diana, Princess of Wales and Egyptian Dodi Fayed, was released on November 16.

The controversial re-telling of the pair's tragic death during a high-speed paparazzi car chase in Paris, August 1997, has been hotly-debated since, with many calling it "bad taste".

The Crown season 6 part 2 is available to stream on Netflix December 14
