Judges have dished out more perfect scores ahead of final than ever before

Ahead of this weekend’s final, 57 tens have been given to dancers — including finalists Ashley Roberts and Faye Tozer who have been criticised for their professional experience.

At the same point last year 44 were awarded to celebrities and the series would go on to have the highest amount of tens with 81.

One fan said: “It wasn’t a ten Bruno, stop dishing them out to everyone.”

Darren Bizzle ranted: “They give tens out like Gareth Southgate gives out England caps.”

And Betty Redondo said: “Ashley Roberts in a class of her own: at top of the leaderboard solo or sharing with Faye Tozer six weeks out of nine. She’s scored 13 tens including the first 40. Is she the best celeb on Strictly ever?”

It comes after Strictly faced criticism from fans for signing up dancers with a wealth of experience like Ashley, 37.

She was part of the pop group The Pussycat Dolls who were originally a burlesque troupe.

Fans have rated her as the least popular, a study of tweets by bookmaker Betvictor showed.

The BBC dance show’s first series in its current 13-week format in 2013 begun with 65 tens and went up every year except in 2015 when harsh judges dished out a meagre 42.

Sourpuss judge Craig Revel Horwood, 53, is going soft in his older age with him set to hand out higher scores than last year.

At this point in 2017 he had given six tens and has awarded three so far.

Bruno Tonioli is the most generous having given out 22 followed by head judge Shirley Ballas, 17, and Darcey Bussell, 15.
