John Barrowman 'kicked out' of restaurant just minutes after arriving – as fans say he was 'discriminated against' | The Sun

FORMER Doctor Who star John Barrowman found himself ejected from a restaurant just moments after arriving.

The 56-year-old actor – who wed husband Scott Gill in 2006 – was baffled to be "kicked out" without an explanation by a member of staff.

John, who is best known for playing Captain Jack Harkness in Torchwood said the incident took place in Tacoma, Washington, US where he was attending the Summer Con convention.

He told his 1.4million Instagram followers: “Not a very good impression @mcmenaminsbeer. We were basically escorted out and told politely you can’t eat here. #Tacoma Jb.

“We’re at McMenamins Elks temple… and basically in a polite way, the gentleman guided us out of one restaurant and took us into another and kind of persuaded us not to come in.”

John's friend also claimed on camera that they “kicked us out”, before the star ended the video: “So Tacoma… not a good recommendation. McMenamins…McNot.”

Fans rushed to support John following the bizarre incident and claimed he was "discriminated against".

One penned: “I’m so sorry that this has happened to you John as you’re a legend on the off camera."

Another said: "Hope The Restaurant Apologised To Both You And Scott. Good For You For Highlighting There Awful Behaviour!"

And another wanted an update on John's ordeal, writing: "Since you posted on social media that you were discriminated against by the restaurant, I think you should also tell us what happened after that?"

John later shared a picture with his arm around two fans at the convention and was dressed in a Doctor Who and Pride inspired tee-shire with the words 'Dalek Pride' over the top.

It comes after John cancelled his UK tour in December, saying the last few years had been "extremely difficult."

It was claimed in summer 2021 thatthe actor had "exposed himself" on set while filming the BBC Doctor Who spin-off series.

John insisted he had only done so to "entertain" his colleagues and denied it was sexual harassment, but the furore led to him leaving Dancing on Ice.

Last year, the actor was caught up in a horror car crash in Berlin that saw dozens of people injured when a motor careered into crowds of people and crashed into a shopping centre.
