ITV star Jimmy Tarbuck, 83, admits hit-and-run crash 'near £5.5m home days after sister's funeral' | The Sun

COMEDIAN Jimmy Tarbuck was involved in a hit-and-run smash just days after his sister's funeral.

The 83-year-old was driving near his £5.5million home in Kingston Upon Thames, South West London, when the horror unfolded.


Tarbuck – dad of TV star Liza Tarbuck – damaged a number of vehicles before fleeing the scene, court documents show.

He has now been fined £716 and slapped with five penalty points after pleading guilty to a string of driving offences.

The comic was also ordered to pay £110 in costs and a £286 victim surcharge.

Lavender Hill Magistrates' Court was told the crash took place on May 15.

Bench chair Dr Samantha Cobb said Tarbuck had "recently lost his sister and it had been her funeral in the preceding days".

Tarbuck pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, failing to stop and to give his name and address after a road accident and failing to report an accident.

The star rose to fame in the 1960s and hosted a number of variety shows, including Sunday Night At The London Palladium and Live From Her Majesty's.

Tarbuck revealed in 2020that had been diagnosed with prostate cancer the day after his 80th birthday.
