ITV line up replacement host for NTAs as Joel Dommett could be forced to leave
Joel Dommett’s new show In With A Shout on ITV
Joel Dommett has confirmed ITV has sorted a stand-in host for the National Television Awards in case he needs to leave suddenly.
The 38-year-old explained there’s a chance his heavily pregnant wife Hannah Cooper could go into labour during the awards, which are set to air on Monday, September 5.
Hannah will be attending the awards but the couple will be preparing for every eventuality.
“My wife is very pregnant… But there is a seat for Hannah at the O2 and we’ll just hope she is still there at the end of the evening,” he stated.
Speaking to The Sun, The Masked Singer presenter continued: “We’ll almost certainly take our hospital bag along, just in case.

“There is a contingency. They won’t tell me who the contingency is but the best thing is everybody is there – every presenter is going”.
He went on to say ideally each category would be given to a different host, potentially Holly Willoughby or Stephen Mulhern.
Comedian Joel found fame on ITV programmes such as Reality Bites and Sky’s Bring the Noise.
It was his stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016, though, that shot him further into the public eye.

Joel and Hannah got together shortly after his time in the Australian jungle and got married in an intimate ceremony in Mykonos in 2019.
Since then, the pair have co-hosted ITV comedy series during the coronavirus lockdown and have even appeared on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox together.
Joel told Metro in 2018: “This is the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. It’s easy. Nothing feels difficult about talking about the future.”
The couple announced back in May that they were expecting their first child.
The model shared the happy news on Instagram earlier this year, alongside some sweet snaps showing off her growing baby bump.
The caption alluded to the fact the pair were about to be parents, as Hannah quipped: “Does anyone know how to change a nappy? Because Joel has s**t himself.”
