I'm A Celebrity day 21 recap: Finalists confirmed as Kate Garraway exits
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here has its final three campmates as Kate Garraway left the show in the final axing of the series.
With a whole host of favourites including Bushtucker Trial favourite Celebrity Cyclone to keep them busy for their final hours in camp, it was definitely full of action despite the camp of 12 now turning into four.
So what did Jacqueline Jossa, Roman Kemp, Kate Garraway and Andy Whyment get up to on day 21 of their Australian adventure?
Here’s everything you may have missed from the penultimate day in camp…
Nadine and Caitlyn get a double whammy exit
As seen at the end of last night’s show, Nadine Coyle and Caitlyn Jenner were both eliminated in a shock double axing – the first one this series.
However, we’re sure they were more than happy to go considering everyone was bitten to pieces by mosquitos throughout the night.
Before her exit, Caitlyn told the Bush Telegraph: ‘I am so ready to get out of here, I’ve had enough bugs and intestines thrown on me, I miss the family and I miss being home, now let’s wrap this sucker up and go on to the next one!’
On the announcement, they were delighted that they could leave together – seeing as their journey started with a skydive all the way back on day one.
Time to Suit Up!
Jacqueline was the one to break the happy news to everyone that today was the one and only Celebrity Cyclone day… complete with the ever-snazzy superhero costumes.
Bringing them into camp, the group cheers for the trial (which makes a change from dreading it, we guess!)
‘I’m really excited about this, I never thought I’d get this far where you can actually do the cyclone,’ Jacqueline admitted. ‘This is an iconic moment and I’m just can’t believe I’m here wearing this illuminous orange suit.’
Andy told Roman they looked like Batman and Robin from Only Fools and Horses… and we can’t say we disagree.
Celebrity Cyclone
The trial to end all trials has become a firm tradition in I’m a Celebrity landmarks, and these guys took on the task like pros.
The running order was agreed to be Kate, Jacqueline, Roman and finally Andy.
With a whole lot of water to the point they can’t see, balls and objects being thrown at them to keep them off their feet and sliding back into the ballpit… it was never an easy ride.
Jacqueline started to crawl up to Kate as she struggled to move and then didn’t seem to move any further at all. She eventually managed to get the three stars from Kate but then lost them and they all fell back to the ball pit. She dashed back, collected them and ran back to her marker.
Roman dashed off but underestimated how deep the ball pit was, he eventually reached Jacqueline and took two stars to his marker. Andy raced to get Roman but was hit by balls and water, he decided to try power walking and just as he reached his marker…..
A torrential gush of water and balls was unleashed on our celebrities and they all fell back to the beginning of the course, except Roman who managed to hold on.
Kate, Jacqueline and Andy dashed back to their markers and Andy just reached his with seconds to spare.
‘I got pelted left, right and centre but it was the funniest thing I’ve ever done in my life, it was so so good,’ Jacqueline later laughed, with spirits high in the camp.
An icy return
Nothing can ever be simple in camp, and when they came back from their trial and discovered four choc-ices in a box, they knew there’d be a catch.
They had to find four keys hidden around camp to unlock the box and get the ice creams but there was a twist….water was filling up in the box and if they didn’t find the keys in time they’d have very soggy ice creams.
Kate found one in the telephone box, Roman found one on the Christmas tree, Kate found another by the Jungle shower and Jacqueline found one in the treehouse.
They opened the box just in time.
Campmates welcome a new recruit
Turns out that there hasn’t just been 12 people in the camp…there has actually been 13 and we finally got to meet him again.
Thanks to Andy not taking out the rubbish we got a look at Lennie – a one-metre long goanna lizard who has taken to rummaging their bins when the cameras aren’t looking.
Aided by Roman’s Sir David Attenborough impression, Lennie managed his own Bushtucker trial and tried to neck a whole piece of tail to the shock of every
Kate in particular was shocked, and said: ‘I feel like I’m watching a scene from Jurassic Park! He’s trying to eat it they can dislocate their jaw. I have never seen anything like that in my life.’
Jacqueline and Roman looked on open mouthed as Lennie took the bone to a nearby rock and forced it into his mouth and eventually down his throat.
‘It was the most fascinating thing to watch, he was twisting his neck and doing like weird yoga moves just to digest the food, kind of like James Haskell used to do,’ joked Roman.
While Jacqueline said: ‘That was ugly and hideous to watch but I couldn’t turn away.’
Who said that they’re starved for entertainment in the jungle?!
Out at the final hurdle
Kate Garraway missed out at the finale by one day as the final eliminated contestant of the series.
Speaking to Ant and Dec about her exit, she said: ‘I feel amazing! I can’t believe I got this far. I can’t believe it, honestly.’
‘I was flabbergasted. I kept on thinking you got my name wrong,’ she joked. ‘Those three really deserve to be in the final, they’ve been brilliant throughout.’
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here finale starts 9pm on ITV.
