If You're Craving More '13RW', You Need Netflix's Newest Twisted Teen Drama, 'The Society'

Want to know what would happen if the entire 13 Reasons Why clan were trapped in a ghost town without any adult supervision? Netflix’s new teen series The Society, based on Lord of the Flies, is basically your answer.
When the privileged teens of West Ham, Connecticut (not a real place, btw) find themselves trapped in their town without their parents (or anyone else, for that matter), and literally nowhere to go, they must learn to survive on their own. Think Hannah Baker, Zach Dempsey, Clay Jensen, and Bryce Walker would get along just great? It doesn’t go much better for the teens of The Society either.
Here’s the full Netflix description:
But it’s not your typical dystopian sci-fi drama, either. Beyond the mystery, The Society is an unnerving look at how we treat each other when there are no laws (or, you know, doctors) to help us.
Intrigued? Here’s everything we know so far:
Premiere Date?!
May 10, 2019, my friends! Thank gawd.
Any footage?
Here’s the teaser trailer, with the added bonus of a Billie Eilish soundtrack.
Who are these people?
You may recognize Kathryn Newton as Reese Witherspoon’s daughter in Big Little Lies, or from her hit comedy Blockers, or maybe as Claire Novak in Supernatural. She’s also starring alongside Ryan Reynolds in Detective Pikachu, which also premieres May 10.
Kathryn’s Blockers co-star Gideon Adlon also stars in The Society. Another face you may recognize is Sierra Burgess is a Loser star and model Kristine Froseth.
Who are these people, part two?
Let’s move on to the characters:
Cassandra (Rachel Keller)
You know the girl who has the answers to all life’s problems? She’s probably lovingly called the “mom” of her friend group? That’s Cassandra.
Harry (Alex Fitzalan)
You know the rich kid who gets by on being hot and having important parents? That’s Harry. But, like, he is really, really hot.
Allie (Kathryn Newton)
She may be perfect Cassandra’s little sister, but she is definitely the “chosen one” of this group.
Will (Jacques Colimon)
Foster kid and probably the one who knows the most about survival…
Helena (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Luke (Alex MacNicoll)
The perfect couple of West Ham. Definitely Prom King and Queen material.
Kelly (Kristine Froseth)
Let’s just say she’s a very popular girl with some difficult choices to make.
Becca (Gideon Adlon)
Best friend you’ll ever have…
Sam (Sean Berdy)
…besides maybe Sam. Sam is deaf, gay, and probably going to be your favorite character.
Campbell (Toby Wallace)
His brother, on the other hand? Not so much. Definitely keep a close eye on this guy.
Elle (Olivia DeJonge)
Another contender for surprising fave. Elle is a lot stronger than she seems.
