Love Island: The 2023 couples are revealed
Love Island returned on ITV2 last night and after the winter series at the beginning of the year, I didn’t hold out much hope for this series to be any better.
Maya Jama stormed into the villa and as usual, looked stunning, but it was actually the new format and personalities of the islanders which caught my eye.
When I first learnt that the public would be choosing who the islanders were going to be paired with, I was sceptical at first.
However, seeing Molly Marsh and Mitchel Taylor made me restore some hope in the public’s choices!
Despite it only being the first episode, I am already excited to see what kind of drama will ensue this series, especially since Molly seems pretty protective of Mitchel already.
Currently, my pick for winners this year are Molly and Mitchel or Catherine Agbaje and Andre Furtado as I feel he could warm to her after saying Ella Thomas was his type.
But as we all know and have seen many many times throughout Love Island’s history, the connections made on day one more often than not end in heartbreak for one person.
I always end up liking people that I then end up hating and vice versa but at the moment I am warming to them all.
My one gripe with the episode was bringing in a bombshell already… I feel the show tries to do too much and throwing him in like that meant the girls didn’t really get to know their original boy.
But I may be wrong and could end up loving Zack and whoever he decides to choose (who I think will more likely be Jess Harding or Molly).
Bring on the drama!
