How old is Sam Bird? Love Island 2018 contestant and personal trainer who left the villa with girlfriend Georgia Steel
The hunky personal trainer was a late arrival in the Majorcan villa and left a few weeks later with now ex-girlfriend Georgia Steel. Here's the lowdown on Sam the man.
Who is Sam Bird?
Personal trainer and Love Island 2018 late arrival Sam Bird, 25, is no stranger to celebrity.
The chiselled fitness fanatic trained I'm A Celebrity 2017 winner Georgia "Toff" Toffolo before she entered the jungle.
According to his official website, Sam has been weight training since the age of 15, and holds a degree in Personal Training.
He has well over a decade in the business, previously operating out of Heartcore Fitness in Fulham.
However, he is now the head trainer at the Core Fitness gym in Norwich.
Given his carefully-honed physique, one wouldn't expect him to be shy – and surprisingly, topless selfies that litter his Instagram account.
However, the hunk's social media also hints at a slick sense of humour, with Sam captioning one shirtless snap: "Mum, just need to use your bathroom with the really good selfie mirror.”
He's also no stranger to a glamorous trip abroad, posting snaps from the likes of Dubai, Ibiza and Minorca.
When his arrival in the villa was announced, fans took to social media to air their hopes that Sam would steal Zara from snakey Adam.
Viewers were desperate for the newbie to live up to his name and ruffle some feathers following the tattooed Geordie Adonis's controversial antics in the show's opening weeks.
What happened to Sam in the Love Island villa?
Sam had his choice of ladies to couple up with when he first arrived and he coupled up with Samira Mighty.
That relationship didn't really go anywhere, and he hadn't been looking at Georgia as she was coupled up with Josh Denzel and the pair seemed to be growing closer.
Until, that is, Josh was sent to Casa Amor where Kazimir Crossley caught his eye and turned his head.
He cracked on with her and didn't get a chance to break things off with Georgia until a dramatic recoupling – which saw Georgia bring out the L word…a LOT.
Thank goodness she was single though, as she and Sam then started getting close and after they coupled up their relationship was going strong.
That was thrown into the air when Caroline Flack arrived to give them an ultimatum – either stay together but leave the villa or split up and stay in as singles.
They opted to test their relationship by splitting and staying on the show, but couldn't keep their hands off each other.
After yet another tense recoupling, they opted to walk out of the villa together, rather than coupling up with anyone else.
However, the pair has since broken up with Sam making a statement on social media on October 17 and The Sun exclusively revealing that their break-up was caused by Georgia meeting up with her old flame and staying at his home.
Who won Love Island 2018?
The Love Island final was on Monday, July 30, 2018.
The winners were Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham, the couple had been together since the show started on June 4.
Also in the final were Megan Barton Hanson and Wes Nelson, Josh Denzel and Kaz Crossley and Laura Anderson and Paul Knopps.
