Holly Willoughby refuses to discuss Gemma Collins’ Dancing On Ice showdown
Holly Willoughby has broken her silence after last night’s controversial showdown between Gemma Collins and Jason Gardiner on Dancing On Ice.
But the show’s host – who presented today’s This Morning without Phillip Schofield – failed to open up about what happened behind the scenes after the jaw-dropping fight.
Returning to This Morning alongside temporary co-host John Barrowman, Holly kept schtum about Gemma’s diva antics after she was accused by the TOWIE star of reporting "false information".
Kem Cetinay was tasked with going around the DoI set with a camera as a roving reporter – but while he spoke to many of the dancers, he didn’t go anywhere near Gemma.
Gemma also previously accused Kem of spreading lies and demanded he make her a public apology after he reported on last week’s This Morning that she’d turned up late to a dress rehearsal and held up the entire studio because she was napping.
But Holly would only speak about John Barrowman’s DoI stint on the very first series of the show, telling him she’d love to have him back on it.
John replied: "It’s not about backstabbing, it’s about learning a new skill. If I was asked back I’d love to do it.
"My skates are still in my closet – even if I’m not," he joked.
Last night’s show was one of the most dramatic in Dancing On Ice history.
Gemma had taken to the ice with partner Matt Evers as they skated to Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend from Marilyn Monroe film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
The pair got the lowest score of the series and Jason Gardiner claimed she was "channelling Marilyn [Monroe] but we ended up with Anna Nicole Smith".
The reality TV star threw out her hands and said: "Can I just say one thing? Maybe if you didn’t sell stories on me, I wouldn’t be so upset this week – so take that."
Presenters Phillip and Holly, who Gemma also fell out with last week, had to step in to stop the on-air clash from escalating.
Stunned Jason tried to defend himself but angry Gemma shouted: "Boring – next."
Fiery-tongued Jason told Gemma that her outburst "doesn’t help her cause" and called her a "brat".
Gemma continued to repeatedly shout: "Don’t sell stories on me."
Despite her low score, Gemma was a hit with viewers and managed to avoid the dreaded skate off.
*This Morning continues weekdays at 10.30am on ITV
