GROUNDFORCE legend Tommy Walsh has shocked Pointless viewers after he revealed his dramatic weight loss.

The TV presenter, 66, who is best known for the BBC gardening programme, debuted his new look.



He was appearing the New Year's celebrity special of Pointless, which is presented by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman.

The show sees contestants try to score as few points as possible by racking their brains and trying to come up with answers no one else can think of for general-knowledge questions.

Tim Key, Alex Horne, Eboni Usoro-Brown, Sharron Davies, Rhea Bailey, Diarmuid Gavin and Natalie Jamieson also appeared on the show.

Tommy was partnered with fellow gardener Diarmuid when viewers caught eye of him.

Taking to social media, the couldn't believe how great the television presenter looked.

"B****y hell, Tommy Walsh has lost loads of weight #pointlesscelebrities," said one viewer.

A second added: "Wow what has Tommy Walsh done, he looks amazing."

“Lovely to see Tommy Walsh back on our screens and teamed up with the equally lovely Diarmuid. Top marks for having the brilliant Alex Horne on too," said a third.

While a fourth added: "Tommy Walsh is looking great."

During the show Tommy revealed to Alexander and Richard how his daughter was due to give birth at any moment.

“She’s five days overdue to giving us our first grandchild, so it seems appropriate that I’m back in the film studio," he said.

Richard, 52, then joked that Tommy had shared the news to get inside the other contestants' heads.

“He’s saying to you, ‘Listen, it’d be very very classy if you let me win’

“That’s what he’s saying, isn’t it? It’d be a lovely little gift to his first grandson or granddaughter.”

But with a score of 146 points Tommy was eliminated in the first round.

Saying goodbye to him, Alexander, 52, said it meant Tommy could now get to the hospital before wishing his daughter Charlotte and the new grandchild well.
