Explosive EastEnders Christmas trailer teases shock Slater death

EastEnders finally dropped their action-packed Christmas trailer tonight – and it looks like it will be as happy as ever on Albert Square.

Which is… not very happy at all.

The Slaters, in particular, will be incredibly miserable as the truth about Hayley Slater’s baby comes out.

Kat Slater has unknowingly allowed estranged husband Alfie Moon back into her life and her bed despite him being the father of baby Cherry.

And the trailer teased chaos would hit the household as Kat discovers the shocking truth.

Kat is seen threatening Alfie and Hayley with a metal pole and warning that she is prepared to "do time" – before smashing a car up.

And in a shock twist, Hayley looks like she may seduce Alfie.

Hayley is seen blocking Alfie’s way as she leans in close to him as he is heard warning that he doesn’t know "what she could do" if Kat knew the truth.

"People do desperate things," Alfie is heard saying before Hayley is seen in tears.

It all seems to go downhill in the Slater household after a merry Christmas dinner as Kat lashes out at Alfie, who is dressed as santa.

"Don’t touch me!" Kat screams at Alfie in the middle of the living room.

Meanwhile Mick Carter is released from prison just in time for Christmas.

Rather than settling in for cosy nighs roasting chestnuts on the fire, the Queen Vic landlord is hellbent on revenge.

Linda fears that her husband has got blood on his hands after spotting a suspicious moment between Mick and Phil.

Danny Dyer has teased that Mick will be hunting for Stuart, who got him sent down and tried to attack his wife.

Has he got back at Stuart and killed his former best friend?

Phil, on the other hand, won’t be involved in his usual ‘gangster’ drama during the festive period.

Instead, his Christmas plans are thrown up in the air when he gets locked in the store room with Kim Fox-Hubbard.

The Walford hardman tries to help the expectant mum with a heavy box.

Things go from bad to worse when Kim goes into labour at the worst possible time.

With no one else around to help, Phil turns midwife and helps deliver the baby.

Love is around the corner for Ian Beale and Jean Slater as they actually take their relationship to the next level by becoming a couple.

The pair try to keep their status secret, but Hayley exposes the pair on Christmas Eve.

Meanwhile a family reunion is on the cards for the Taylors when Karen’s sister Kandice and ex Mitch rock up.

Karen hosts a boxing day meal, but inevitably it doesn’t go to plan.

She wants her ex to leave, but Kandice smuggles him into the bathroom.

Furious Keegan wonders why Mitch was hiding in the bathroom when he reappears.

What has Mitch got planned?

Finally, Keanu could betray secret lover Sharon in the worst way possible – by sleeping with her stepdaughter.

Keanu can’t spend time with his lover Sharon over the Christmas period, so he turns his attention to another Mitchell.

Louise gets the wrong end of the stick and tries to snog her driving instructor.

Rather than push her back, Keanu reciprocates and gives her a smooch back.

How will Keegan react when he finds out?
