Exes Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber Reunite for Charity Event in NYC — and Share a Sweet Hug

Back together for a good cause!

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, who split in 2016 after 11 years together, stepped out on Monday night for the New York Academy of Art’s Tribeca Ball in New York City.

Schreiber, 51, wore a grey suit for the occasion, while Watts, 50, stunned in a flowing metallic gown with a lavender, green and blue floral pattern.

At one point during the event, which raises money for the New York Academy of Art, the ex-couple shared a friendly hug.

This isn’t the first time the friendly exes have stepped out together.

In February, Schreiber and Watts enjoyed a morning stroll through the streets of New York City. The two actors bundled up to brave the cool weather as they enjoyed coffee while Schreiber walked his dog.

The pair were together for 11 years before announcing their split in a joint statement in September 2016. They share two sons, 11-year-old Alexander “Sasha” Pete and 10-year-old Samuel Kai.

Although both stars have admitted that it hasn’t always been easy, their joint priority is their children.

“It’s always hard, you know? You build a life with someone and things change,” Schreiber said in a 2018 interview during Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist. “The way that we’ve looked at it is that we’ll always be partners with these kids.”

“It’s important to support each other,” he added. “I was making some jokes at breakfast about Mommy and their eyes light up when I talk about her. You can see how important it is to them that their parents care about each other.”

Watts opened up about being a single parent in a 2017 interview with Vogue Australia, saying, “I mean, I’m single, I’m co-parenting. I’m doing okay.“

She added she was focusing on work and her family, as well as spending time with friends including Nicole Kidman.

“There are good days and bad days and Liev and I are on great terms and we’re trying to do our absolute best for the sake of the children and we hope to keep moving forward in that way,” she continued.

Schreiber has been dating former Miss South Dakota winner Taylor Neisen. They were photographed walking together in January along with the actor’s dogs.

While the two have yet to publicly confirm their relationship, Schreiber and Neisen, 26, have been romantically linked since 2017.
