Everything you need to know about tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing final
Fifteen have become four, and it’s that time of year again when only one celeb can emerge victorious with the Glitterball trophy in hand.
But who will that be? Ashley Roberts, Faye Tozer, Joe Sugg and Stacey Dooley will all battle it out on the Strictly Come Dancing floor tonight to see who will be crowned the winner of 2018.
And what a year it’s been.
There have been tears of joy and pain and scandal over stolen kisses in the street between comedian Sean Walsh and professional married dancer Katya Jones.
We’ve seen accusations of unfair advantages against those from a dancing background or with previous training. Pro dancer and all round ladies’ man Giovanni Pernice has taken two of them – Ashley Roberts and Faye Tozer – out for drinks , although they have denied there was anything but friendship in it.
It has certainly entertained on and off our TV screens but it will soon be coming to an end for another year. So here’s all the details you need about the final show.
When is the Strictly final?
The final is on tonight (Saturday December 15) on BBC1, with the fun kicking off at 6.30pm.
It will be held at The Elstree TV Studios in Hertfordshire in front of an audience of around 750.
Unfortunately the ticket ballot is now closed.
What will happen in the last show?
Each couple remaining perform three dances in the final.
Stacey and partner Kevin Clifton will perform a foxtrot to Hi Ho Silver Lining by Jeff Back, followed by a showdance to Land of A Thousand Dances by Jessica Mauboy.
Joe and Dianne Buswell will dance a pasodoble to Bastille’s Pompeii and a showdance to I Bet Your Look Good On The Dancefloor by the Arctic Monkeys.
Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice will do a Viennese waltz to It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World and a showdance to The Lullaby Of Broadway, and Ashley and Pasha will dance a salsa to (I’ve Had The) Time Of My Life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warner, followed by a showdance to Keeping Your Head Up by Birdy.
Who decides who the winner is?
The winner of The Glitterball Trophy is decided by the public through viewers’ votes.
In the rest of the series judges Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Toniolo and Shirley Ballas score the dances, then the viewers’ votes are combined to give an overall position on the leaderboard.
In the final the judges will still score, but it’s just to see their opinion as the deciding result is down to the public.
