Emotional Chris Hughes thanks This Morning for testicle examination after his brother is diagnosed with cancer
The Love Island star, who shocked viewers in November last year when he was checked, was emotional as he appeared on the show via video link today after revealing the sad news about Ben last night.
He said: “I just want to thank This Morning for allowing me to come on the show and do the live testicular examination the other month.
“It was very important for me and we had a bit of sad news yesterday, my brother has been diagnosed with testicular cancer . He popped into my room the day after I did the live testicular cancer examination saying he had checked himself and found a lump, I told him to go and get it checked out, which he did.
“He got the results yesterday afternoon that it is testicular cancer, very unfortunately, but hopefully he has found it an early age so we await the prognosis result.”
The star, who was filming with a horse in the Cotswolds, added: “Hopefully it hasn’t spread which is the most important thing and with that I want to urge anybody to get themselves checked out and make sure do and don’t neglect it because it is so easy to neglect.”
Chris bared his genitals on the show in the live testicular cancer check with the show's Doctor Chris Steele, to help raise awareness last year.
He broke the news about his brother yesterday alongside a picture of them as children, telling fans: "A sad day. My brother was diagnosed with testicular cancer this lunchtime, in which we pray for a kind prognosis.
"Today he sent me a message telling me the news, and thanking me for making him aware, else he’d never have known he had cancer.. That literally broke my heart.
"Testicular cancer is a silent killer, men need realise this and check themselves regularly. It takes 10 seconds. Please do it."
