Emmerdale’s Dan Spencer star hints character receives lifetime prison sentence
Emmerdale: Dan tells Amelia that they should 'run away'
Emmerdale’s Dan Spencer (played by Liam Fox) is set to be put behind bars after pleading guilty to causing Lloyd Sawyer’s (Matt Sutton) death.
In scenes yet to air, the loveable character admits to being terrified about getting sent to prison during a chat in The Woolpack.
Members of the Man Club gather around to support him in the pub ahead of his exit from Emmerdale.
The following day, things seem very real when he leaves The Woolpack for the very last time.
When he arrives in court his solicitor reiterates he should receive a short sentence – but is this true?

Dan braces himself for the sentence, but the shadows of the reality of killing someone hang over him.
Dan actor Liam has hinted his character might be put behind bars for life, which can happen with manslaughter charges in some cases.
When asked how fearful Dan is about his future, Liam shared with Express.co.uk and other publications: “He’s scared about how long he’s going to get, he has presumed he will get about three years or something like that.
“He’s got it in his head that after 18 months he might be out so can he cope with 18 months? Is that something that Dan can get his head around?

“Whatever Dan does, when he comes out – if he comes out – he’s going to be a different man.”
He continued: “Someone like Dan will not benefit from prison. There’s no rehabilitation as a human being needed for Dan, but at the same time he has committed manslaughter.”
Emmerdale fans will recall Dan killed his daughter Amelia Spencer’s (Daisy Campbell) stalker accidentally after punching him in the face.
Lloyd hit his head on a rock when he fell to the ground and was rushed to hospital, but he died several days later from his injuries.
Dan has been riddled with guilt and has not been able to stop thinking about taking another person’s life.
Liam added: “He does start to think about Lloyd’s family. I think the whole reason he punched him in the first place gets lost as it probably would do as it’s about a man who’s dead and his wife.
“When he met the man’s wife a few weeks ago in the hospital he wasn’t even thinking about his wife or Lloyd having any kind of family.
“Now there is this overwhelming feeling that down to him, Lloyd’s family and friends have lost him.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
