Emmerdale star shares look at Fiona Wade’s leaving party after Priya Sharma exit
Emmerdale star Rebecca Sarker took to Instagram over the weekend to share a look at Fiona Wade's leaving party after her emotional Priya Sharma exit on the hit ITV soap.
Viewers were left in tears last week as Priya made an emotional departure from the iconic village after 11 years to pursue an exciting career opportunity in London.
Taking to social media after the scenes aired, actress Rebecca, 48, who plays Manpreet Sharma, bid an emotional farewell to her co-star.
Posting a collection of snaps with Fiona at her leaving party, Rebecca penned: "Dearest @fionawade1. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly into your family, both fictional and real-life. This is just adiós and not goodbye" followed by heart emojis.
To which Fiona replied with: "My beautiful sister Thankyou for being by my side throughout! Family always I love you xxxx."
In the snaps, it saw Rebecca and Fiona pose together for a sweet snap while another photo saw the two soap stars alongside Nicola Wheeler and Samantha Giles.
While Fiona herself also took to Instagram to share a video montage of her leaving party, where the likes of Olivia Bromley, Isabel Hodgins, Eden Taylor-Draper and Chris Bisson were also in attendance.
The actress emotionally penned: "It’s been the most incredible 11 years playing Priya Sharma so saying goodbye to my emmerdale family wasn’t easy. I have loved playing Priya and I am so thankful to @emmerdale & @itv for the incredible opportunities that they have given me over so many years.
"So many wonderful memories and such a gift of a job. Thankyou to Reece Dinsdale, Abe Jukes & @gsiougas who were my wonderful directors on my last week, Thankyou for your compassion and great direction as always! Thankyou to the whole emmerdale team you are all amazing!
"To my beautiful friends that I take with me, Thankyou for being there it meant the world. To my wonderful Sharma family @chrisbisson @bhaskerpatel @rebeccasarker @rik_makarem #TrudieGoodwin You know how much I love you..

It was reported in October that Fiona was leaving her role of Priya after 11 years on the soap to pursue other acting opportunities.
And only recently, Fiona discussed her reason to leave the soap after first joining in 2011, admitting it is a "sad" decision.
Speaking to Digital Spy, she said: "It was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make. Leaving my Emmerdale family is a big thing and it wasn't easy filming my last scenes.
"When you've been somewhere for that long and that's your every day, it's hard and feels sad. But as every actor knows, you need to challenge yourself and that's very important too."
She added: "There are so many blessings that come your way when you're in a show like Emmerdale. To be given a character that you can make yours, to have fantastic writers that enable you to grow in this amazing character. Plus, the friends you make and the experiences you have is invaluable."
Emmerdale continues weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX.
