Emmerdale star confirms ITV soap return after fans confused over ‘missing’ character

Emmerdale's Ethan Anderson star Emile John has confirmed his upcoming return to the hit ITV soap.

The actor, who made his debut in 2021, has been noticeably absent on screen for weeks, leaving soap fans incredibly confused over his character Ethan's whereabouts.

Taking to Instagram earlier this week, Emile confirmed his return to the ITV soap, which will no doubt leave viewers delighted.

The actor posted a picture with his on-screen family, which included co-stars Rebecca Sarker, Flo Wilson and Kevin Mathurin.

Emile captioned the picture with: "Annnnd we're back" with a filming clapperboard emoji.

The actor also offered an insight into his past few weeks away, revealing he had enjoyed a getaway with friends and also posted a picture of a set of keys in a flat, appearing to show he has secured his own property.

It's been an explosive few weeks on Emmerdale for the Anderson family with the surprise arrival of Charles Anderson's mother, Claudette Anderson, shortly followed by his dad Victor Anderson.

However, soap watchers had been left confused during the scenes as Charles' son, Ethan, played by Emile, was absent during the gripping storylines.

Taking to Twitter over the past few weeks, fans have shared their confusion with one writing: "What has happened to Ethan? Is the Actor ok? Please Emmerdale,It seems strange that other family have been introduced and he isn't around? #Emmerdale."

A different account put: "Where is Ethan? #emmerdale" another viewer wrote: "How is Ethan TOTALLY missing during his #Emmerdale family drama?"

Another soap watcher pointed out: "So yet another member of Charles family turns up, but no sign or mention of Ethan?#emmerdale #FindEthan."

While a different confused viewer simply wrote: "Where is Ethan ?????????????? #Emmerdale."

However, while one member of the Anderson family returns, another is set for an exit as Karene Peter is thought to be leaving the soap, after playing the role of Naomi Walters for just one year.

Karene joined the action in the Dales in summer last year, when she entered the soap as Vicar Charles' long-lost daughter Naomi Walters.
