EastEnders' wild child Lola Pearce makes shock return to Walford with daughter Lexi

The blonde-haired wild child hasn't been seen in Albert Square since 2015 – with the granddaughter of Billy Mitchell causing her fair share of drama during her four-year stint in the BBC One soap.

Danielle Harold, who plays the lovable tearaway, said of her return: "I’m so excited to be returning to EastEnders next year.

"EastEnders was my first acting job and I have so many happy memories from my time there.

"I can’t believe it’s been over three years since I left and I can’t wait to get back and find out what Lola has been up to."

The show's producer, Kate Oates, added: "As a viewer I always admired Lola’s fiesty, fiery spirit and viewers will have a lot to look forward to with her return.

"How will Jay respond seeing the love of his life walk back into Walford after all these years?

"And for Billy to have his best girl back in town, I can’t wait."

As well as being fired from every job she had due to her fiery spirit, Lola also caused controversy when she fell pregnant with Ben Mitchell's baby.

The pregnancy was particularly shocking as Ben is Lola's third cousin once removed, and Ben is also gay.

The teen ended up giving birth to baby Lexi in chicken shop McKlunky's, leaving the Square for a new life in Newcastle shortly after.

Lola was originally leaving with love interest Jay Brown, with Jay being left broken-hearted when Lola dumped him and took off before they could live out their plans.

Show bosses have now teased that the character is a "far cry" from the lost teen that viewers came to love, with the new, older Lola "mature and confident" – as well as "fiercely protective" of her six-year-old daughter.
