ALBERT Square residents are struggling after Gray Atkins faced face multiple attacks before he was finally arrested by police.
The serial killer – who is played by actor Toby-Alexander Smith in the BBC soap – was arrested on Thursday after finally confessing to the murders of Chantelle, Tina Carter and Kush Kazemi.
His secrets began to unravel after Tina Carter's body was found in the Argee Bhajee.
This ultimately led to his dramatic demise, which has left every resident in the Square reeling from the truth.
This week, the events are still fresh on everyone's minds as Gray is still remembered as the helpful neighbour who was always ready to put his lawyer skills to good use.
But he left Shirley Carter knocked out and in hospital with a nasty head injury after attacking her during his tense, violent last scenes.
The former barmaid has been left fighting for life after the vicious attack in the Queen Vic pub.

The actress – who played the Debbie Dingle on the ITV soap for nearly two decades – caught up with Eden Taylor-Draper and Emma Atkins who play Belle and Charity Dingle respectively.
The happy trio posed for a selfie and looked glam as Charley celebrated a kid-free night and being 'out-out'.
Charley looked chic in a black blazer, leopard print tights and black denim shorts.

EMMERDALE fans are up in arms over ITV's new schedule shake-up that's seen the soap pushed back by 30 minutes.
The popular rural drama has filled the 7pm slot for years, leading into Coronation Street at 7.30pm.
But last week ITV began airing an extended hour-long News programme at 6.30pm, pushing Emmerdale back to 7.30pm and Corrie to 8pm.
As a result the BBC has moved EastEnders to a daily 7.30pm slot creating an almighty soap clash.
One Emmerdale viewer wrote on Twitter: "i hate this new soap schedule with emmerdale and eastenders being on at the same time."

Gray O’Brien is best known for playing Carla Connor’s murderous factory owner husband Tony Gordon in Coronation Street.

Leanne Battersby horrified as Amy Barlow makes shocking decision
THERE's still trouble in paradise for Amy Barlow and Jacob Hay.
Their relationship continues to ruffle some feathers in Coronation Street and Leanne Battersby makes her disapproval known.
After her spiking horror, Amy (played by Elle Mulvaney) remains determined to get her boyfriend Jacob (Jack James Ryan) accepted by her family.
In upcoming scenes of the ITV soap, due on our screens next week, Amy arranges lunch in the Bistro with her parents Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
But when the 18-year-old makes an entrance with Jacob in tow, Steve and Tracy's jaws hit the floor, with the latter threatening to walk out.
Despite wanting to pull them apart in previous episodes, Steve is more accepting and points out that Amy is an adult and is therefore allowed to see whoever she wants.
However, Leanne (Jane Danson) is horrified to spot the happy couple and reminds them that Jacob almost destroyed her family by grooming her adoptive son Simon (Alex Bain) into criminal activity.
