EastEnders fans predict shock twist as Jack Branning helps Mel and Hunter

EastEnders viewers predicted a shock twist as Mel Owen told Jack Branning her shock murder secret on Tuesday.

The former copper was gob-smacked as Mel revealed her son Hunter had killed Ray Kelly and the pair had buried the body.

While he appeared to soften when Mel begged him to help them escape Albert Square, some fans were convinced that Jack was actually hatching a secret plan to hand them in to police.

"#EastEnders Jack will grass ’em up the feds just watch," one fan wrote after watching his frantic conversation with Mel.

While another added: "Mel told Jack everything, she should be worried #EastEnders".

A third agreed: "I feel like bringing Jack into this could have been a big mistake.. #EastEnders".

Earlier in the episode, Jack faked an alibi for Mel when quizzed by two officers.

However, he didn’t look happy about lying to the cops, given his previous experience in the force.

But will his love for Mel outweigh his duty as a former police officer?

In scenes to come on the BBC soap, Jack drives Mel and Hunter away from Albert Square.

However, the police aren’t far behind them as they follow hot on their tails.

Could it have been Jack that alerted the police about Mel’s plan to run away?
