EastEnders fans left emotional as Denise reveals special tribute to Lola on her birthday
EastEnders fans have been left emotional after Denise Fox revealed a special memorial gift for Lola on her birthday. Young Lola passed away in May after a battle with a brain tumour, and on what should have been her 27th birthday, her friends and family remembered her just days after her funeral.
Lola's former boss Denise gathered Lola's nearest and dearest at the salon where a personalised chair was unveiled in memory of her. The black and white chair had Lola's name on the back in a special gold plaque, meaning she will never be forgotten on the square.
After giving a heartfelt speech about her former colleague, she struggled to keep it together, leaving her husband Jack to reveal all. Jack said: "She's missed and there will always be a part of her here."
Before Denise's sister and Lola's colleague Kim said: "For a special friend on her special day." The gesture clearly touched Lola's family as her grandad Billy and husband Jay looked visibly moved by the classy gesture.
The special scenes left the viewers at home emotional with one saying: "Happy birthday Lola you will always be remembered. Beautiful scene."
Another tweeted to say: "That was a lovely speech from Denise for Lola" followed by a number of broken heart emojis and crying emojis. While one fan was clearly upset as they said: "The memorial chair for Lola" before adding several crying emojis.
"Aww Denise and Kim getting a plaque to put on a chair in a salon In remembrance of Lola. Very nice touch that" said one fan.
Several other tweets from fans were full of crying emojis showing how well-loved Lola was by the residents in Walford and the fans at home. The hard-hitting scenes didn't end there as Lola's daughter Lexi struggled with her mum's birthday.
As she returned home from school with a special birthday card which she had made before asking if they have birthday cake in heaven. Those scenes only added to the emotion of the viewers at home with one fan saying on social media: "Lexi making a card for Lola" before adding broken heart emojis and crying emojis.
The fan continued: " Her mum was her world, and she'll never forget her even when it looks like she's coping secretly she is not. It'll take time for Lexi to process life without her mum."
Just last week Lexi stood up and spoke about her mum at her special funeral. She also put together a perfect video showcasing her mum's relationship with several of her closest friends and family.
