EastEnders fans were left stunned on Thursday (June 22) as the original Peter Beale actor made a stunning return alongside Ian and Cindy Beale.

Ecstatic fans, who were still rejoicing at the return of Cindy Beale, spotted Peter, played by actor Thomas Law, in the opening scenes of the episode before realizing actory Adam Woodyatt had also returned to play Ian.

“Thomas Law back as Peter Beale?!!!! YES,” gushed one fan.

“TS MY FAVOURITE PETER!” penned a second.

A third added: “THOMAS LAW BACK AS PETER BEALE #EastEnders,” while a fourth penned: “THE OG PETER OMFGGGGG I LOVE IT HERE,” and “Peter?!!!!! #eastenders and it’s the one who played him before rahhhh.”

Another added: "Bringing back the legends I see. Give these writers a pay rise!!"

Peter Beale is the child of Cindy and Ian Beale and the Twin of Lucy Beale.

Peter decided to leave Albert Square after being betrayed by Kathy and realising he had no future where he grew up.

His decision to leave came after Kathy lied to the police to get Ben freed from custody for Peter’s assault.

Ben went straight back and took revenge on his nephew and attacked him with a meat tenderiser, shoved Peter’s head into a bowl of water and left him utterly terrified.

EastEnders fans were left screaming at their TV screens as Cindy Beale made her highly anticipated return to the soap last night (June 22)

The character’s return had been teased for some time with many predicting she was the mystery identity of George Knight’s wife, Rose, who disappeared without explanation ten years ago.
