Earth from space viewers left CRYING over heartbreaking baby elephant scenes

Earth from Space looks at the nature of the world from the viewpoint of space.

The premiere episode focused on a herd of African elephants in Kenya.

But viewers were left “crying” and feeling “heartbroken” within minutes of the programme after witnessing a baby elephant struggle to handle the rain pour after a savage drought.

The clip begins with a worn out elephant calve collapsing on her mum’s feet.

Despite being exhausted, the mother elephant nudges and prods at her calve with her feet, refusing the youngster a break.

She blows sand at the baby in a bid to get them to stand up.

But this doesn’t work to plan and the baby is seen sprawled out on the floor with its tongue sticking out.

The youngster is then greeted with her first rain shower.

But due to the ground being primarily mud, her footing becomes difficult.

She’s seen slipping around in the mud puddles while desperately trying to get to her feet – with the encouragement from her mum.

With one person adding: “So I thought I’d sit down and watch ‘Earth From Space’, on the BBC tonight, expecting an hour of fascinating film of the Worlds wonders.

“But no, immediately it was about ‘climate change’ and elephants dying.

“EVERY BLOODY PROGRAMME IS A BLOODY LECTURE.

“I’m sick of it.”

Someone replied: “Thanks for the heads up, recorded it to watch tomorrow. I won’t bother now.”

It’s not the first time BBC viewers have been left crying after watching a show.
