Dragons Den replaces Jenny Campbell with youngest ever investor Sara Davies

Dragons Den has recruited a brand new investor to replace Jenny Campbell on the show.

Sara Davies, founder of Crafter's Companion, will be joining the panel alongside Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Syleyman and Tej Lalvani.

Davies joins the show as the youngest ever investor aged just 35.

Speaking of her excitement at joining the BBC Two show, she said: "“I’m absolutely delighted to join the other Dragons for the new series of the show.

“I’ve always been very passionate about investing time in and sharing my expertise with other entrepreneurs and hopefully I’ll be able to help some of the contestants to really take their businesses to the next level.

"I've been a fan of the show since it started, I was even invited to pitch on the show 13 years ago so it feels like I've come a full circle."

But who is Sara and how did she become a successful business tycoon?

Who is Sara Davies?

Sara is from Coundon in County Durham.

While she may be the youngest, Sara is already a hugely esteemed businesswoman, having picked up around 25 awards alongside her company.

She was even praised for her services to the economy with an MBE in the 2016 Queen's Birthday Honours list.

Alongside her budding crafts empire, Sara is also no stranger to TV, having starred in her own craft programme, Be Creative TV.

She also makes regular appearances on shopping channels in the UK and Stateside.

What is Sara's business?

Sara dreamed up Crafter's Companion 13 years ago in her York university bedroom.

The Geordie entrepreneur's company offers a one stop shop for creatives looking to get into papercraft and needlecraft or experienced crafters looking to top up their supplies.

It also offers "stamps, dies, colouring mediums and a whole host of items to enhance your crafting journey".

How much is Sara's business worth?

The company, which originated in Durham, is a huge success, employing 190 staff in the UK, US and Europe.

It now has two more stores which run alongside its flagship, as well as a massive online presence, turning over a whopping £34million a year.

*Dragon’s Den will return for its 17th series on BBC Two later this summer.
