Drag Race's latest casualty just as surprised about her elimination as you are

She said: ‘I tried to always be ready, just in case. Every look that I planned to take to the runway, I did with a possible lip sync in mind, just in case – because you never know. Like any good queen, you’ve gotta keep a weapon between your t*ts. Hopefully it matches the outfit.’

Scarlet proved her acting chops in the Good God Girl, Get Out! challenge, but had been open about her lack of rhythm – so dealing with fanography, vogueing and shablams in the Draglympics was never going to be her challenge.

However, she wasn’t going to give up, despite the odds being stacked against her.

The 27-year-old said: ‘Drag Race is designed to bring you out of your comfort zone, and what I think I did was leave my comfort zone, fearlessly. You might not be the best at something but I think the important part is the attempt. Like I said in my group, regardless of how good my death drop might be, I think the judges will hopefully acknowledge the attempt. A lot of the girls get caught up in just not wanting to try. The attitude of wanting to try your best goes further than you think it does.’

Sadly, her elimination means that Scarlet missed out on Snatch Game, the pinnacle of any Ru girl’s journey – and even more sadly for us, it sounds like it could have been a hoot.

‘I was hoping to serve the children a bit of a Lana Del Rey fantasy for Snatch Game, of course. And my other option was to go into more of a classic era and do a little Lucille Ball.’

Pretty well thought out – unlike the other celebrity acting challenge Scarlet participated in, aka one of the biggest car crashes in herstory. We are of course talking about the Mariah Carey Diva Worship skit – which Scarlet will now and forever acknowledge as a disaster.

‘We’re not going to talk about Mariah. We’re gonna leave that one!’ she laughed.

‘I definitely think I could have picked a different diva if we’re looking at the whole season. I’m still accepting spankings from any Mariah Carey fan, any Lamb. But no, I don’t think we should live there.

‘We should accept what reality was, and move forward from that without living in regret.’

RuPaul’s Drag Race continues at 9pm ET/PT on Thursdays on VH1, and drops on Netflix the following morning.
