Former This Morning expert Dr. Ranj Singh was rushed to hospital after he was struck down with severe food poisoning.

The medical professional was forced to seek medical advice on Wednesday (August 2) after he became seriously dehydrated after eating a dodgy dinner.

But the clinician's troubles didn't end there after his bout of illness sparked a fierce debate among anti-vaxxers and Covid-conspiracy theorists online.

Later that evening, the 44-year-old took to the social media platform X – formerly known as Twitter – to shut down rumours online as he recovered in the comfort of his own home.

He wrote: "Unfortunately I had dehydration after a bout of food poisoning. Luckily I got great care from our NHS and was discharged home after some fluids to recover!

"Unfortunately, there are some absolute plonkers on social media (Twitter) who think my recent hospital stay was something to do with vaccines. It wasn't. Honestly, get a grip!"

It comes after he discouraged viewers from commenting on the ongoing Phillip Schofield scandal following his explosive exit two months ago.

Just weeks ago the TV expert slammed ITV's "toxic culture" in an online outburst in which he claimed the "issues with This Morning go far beyond Phillip."
