How did Kate Middleton and Prince William meet?

Most people believe that Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton met at St. Andrews University their freshman year, but that’s not actually accurate. The pair met in 2001 before school began. Royal expert Kate Nicholl told Katie Couric in 2013, “This was really fascinating for me. I was speaking to some of her friends at Marlborough School, which was where she went before St. Andrews, and they said, “Uh uh, she didn’t meet him at St. Andrews. She met him before she got there… through some of her friends. They knew Prince William and Prince Harry.” So there was an early meeting, and that for me changed everything.”

Initially, the pair were just friends, and they even dated other people. However, by their second semester, they were hot and heavy. Though Middleton was dating an older guy who was in law school, the prince saw her walking in a fashion show which changed how he thought about her. He cornered her at the fashion show after-party and kissed her. She broke it off with her beau, and she and Prince William have been together ever since –except for that brief breakup in 2007.
