Danny Dyer 'sobbed every night' when he watched daughter Dani on Love Island and didn't want her to go on show

Dani, 22, and her boyfriend Jack Fincham, 26, were the winners of the ITV2 dating show – but the barmaid's hardman dad missed her while she was away.

Speaking on tomorrow night's episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, 41-year-old Danny confessed that he advised his daughter not to take part on the show, and told her that if she was going to do it then she had to win it.

The EastEnders actor explained: "I said goodbye to her, they took her blower off her and I’m watching her on the telly like everyone else.

"It is hard work, mate. I was sobbing my heart out every night. I’m a sensitive soul."

Praising the way that Dani portrayed herself in the reality show, Danny continued: "She is a beautiful little soul. I did tell her not to do [Love Island]… but I got it wrong.

"She did it with grace and dignity. She did find a geezer, but she didn’t do none of that [sex on the show].

"I said to her: 'If you’re going to do it, win it.'

"She is quite a vulnerable little thing and I think she showed that vulnerability. She is a normal kid.

"I think people because of me had a perception of her but she is anything but that."

The star also opened up about Dani and Jack's shock split earlier this month – with fans being left confused when the pair reunited days after Dani announced their break up on her Instagram page.

Insisting that the pair are firmly still together, Danny shared: "They'd had a row, she got a bit emotional and I think she whacked that [post] up and immediately regretted it.

"You know what women are like… I'm just saying she got a little bit irate, screaming and shouting, the ultimate way to punish him maybe.

"I don’t know what was going on but I can tell you now, they’re sweet. We all have tear ups.

"Don’t declare nothing to the world, I’ve told her this. That was my bit of fatherly advice. It is okay, it is all sweet"

Last night, Dani hit back at claims that she only reunited with Jack for commercial reasons.

Jack shared a photo of himself with the brunette beauty at a restaurant on his Instagram account.

The post read: "Yo little guy."

Dani commented: "Love you baby.

"Oh wait maybe I shouldn't say that because we together for money apparently??

"Yeah tbh I should get paid for picking up your pants…"

The star had previously said that she and Jack had "sadly decided to part ways", adding that their romance was "not meant to be long term".

In a separate post, shared days later, Dani took back her words as she clarified: "Just want to put all comments to bed.

"All I can say is I’m still 22 trying to get my s*** together and grow into a woman but doing it in the public eye is sometimes hard and scary but arguments are arguments and I love him.

"I can only please people who want to be pleased and I am having to learn that opinions are just opinions. Hope everyone can understand that I am just a normal girl."
