Corrie’s Faye Windass set to leave the cobbles after 12 years
Coronation Street Spoilers: Faye Windass goes into labour
Ellie Leach, who plays Faye Windass, stepped onto the cobbles 12 years ago to make her Coronation Street debut. During her time on the soap, the actress has been at the heart of some huge storylines, including her teenage pregnancy.
It is understood Faye will not be killed off, so she might make a return to Weatherfield one day.
“Ellie’s been on the soap since she was 10 years old so it’s all she’s known, she sees the cast like an extension of her family,” a source told The Sun.
“She’s sad to be leaving, but grateful that her character won’t be killed off.
“She’s going to have a go at trying other acting roles for a bit.”
At the moment, her character’s part of a big storyline about reuniting with her daughter who she gave birth to when she was 13 years old.
She gave birth to Miley (Eilah, Elsie and Erin Halliwell) after sleeping with school friend Jackson Hodge (Rhys Cadman).
The youngster struggled with parenthood, leaving Jackson and his parents to move to Canada with Miley.
But now a reunion is on the cards for the absent mother and Miley as she’s moved back to the UK with her dad.
Express.co.uk has contacted a Coronation Street spokesperson for comment on the alleged exit.
Faye has been struggling after going into early menopause and learning she would no longer be able to have any more children.
The chance of reconnecting with Miley all these years later was an opportunity Faye couldn’t miss.
“I was really excited,” Faye actor Ellie told Metro.co.uk of the storyline.

“Faye has had such a tough time and it would be great for Faye to have a relationship with Miley.”
She said she had been looking back at pictures of the scenes where she gave birth as Faye.
The star concluded: “I just can’t believe how long ago the teenage pregnancy storyline was because it literally feels like two minutes ago.”
Will the storyline involving Miley be linked to Faye’s exit from Coronation Street?
It is believed she will be leaving the show this summer, which is only a matter of months away.
