Coronation Street's Josh Tucker will manipulate David Platt after raping him and refuse to leave Weatherfield

JOSH Tucker will stick around to make his victim David Platt's life a living hell in Coronation Street.
The mechanic – who is played by actor Ryan Clayton in the hit ITV soap – will be seen next week drugging and sexually assaulting David. But instead of running away, he will remain in Weatherfield and force his friend to suffer even more.
Actor Ryan promised: "He's not going anywhere soon."
A Corrie spokeswoman added: "David knows what's happened, he has an awareness of what's happened, so when he tackles him that's when you realise this guy isn't just going to bugger off and disappear, he's going to hold his ground.
"The confidence that you will see is the affable cheeky chap, and he's sort of flirting with everybody, then you can see the manipulation. David is saying, 'I know what you did,' and he's like 'mate'.
"So it's very hard for David and that's when it becomes the men's mental health story, which is, David can't deal with what he's internalising especially as this guy is still there, and charming everybody.
"It'll go on for a while because he's still training everybody to box. In order to try to protect himself he may turn his charms on one of the ladies on the street. He's a dangerous person to be around in a very manipulative way."
Ryan added: "In terms of the actual character, he just wants to have sex. That's what he wants, that's what his motive is. And then it's more the aftermath when you see those similar traits, what other rapists do. Those similar traits that happen and those manipulation games that people like that play.
"In his head it isn't sexual assault, he doesn't see it as that, and he will just go, 'Oh well, I'm sure he'll be up for it, and I might just slip something into his drink to make it an even better time.'
"In his head he totally believes it's consensual and will try to buy that for as long as possible."

Josh will even act as if he is still David's friend after the attack, in a show of his manipulation.
Ryan said: "He totally believes we can do this and it's absolutely fine, and it's not until the next sort of days that he realises, 'oh, you've got a bit of a problem with this.'
"He thinks he's worried about Shona finding out and he's saying, 'look, get over it.'"
The actor revealed he also wants Josh, who is currently scheduled to appear on screen until Summer, to become a killer, saying: "I think that would extend my contract a bit longer so I'd be happy for that."
