Coronation Street's Jim McDonald in for shock return after scamming wife Liz, says actress Beverley Callard
Actress Beverley Callard has admitted she thinks Liz has unfinished business with Jim after he fled the soap in September.
Jim returned to Corrie and managed to con Liz into believing their dead daughter Hannah was alive.
In fact, Jim was dating Hannah and persuaded her to go along with the scam to get money out of Liz.
She was mutinous when she discovered their sickening trick and the pair fled.
But Beverley, 61, has said she’d welcome Charlie Lawson, 59, who plays Jim, back with open arms.
She told The Sunday Mirror: “I don’t think they are finished. The way Charlie and I played it towards the very end, they were coming together again.
“He played it with a sense of remorse and that he really did love Liz.
“I really hope they bring him back. I think maybe he’ll somehow get the money to give back to Liz…”
Should Jim return to the Cobbles, Beverley hinted there could be an explosive revenge plot carried out by Liz.
In an interview with The Sun Online’s Soap Bubble, she teased: “Feisty Liz returns with a vengeance, that's all I can say about that.
“We're a long way off that now but the scenes are just brilliant!”
After filming again for the hit ITV soap Charlie returned to the stage but after suffering from exhaustion had a mini-stroke.
He is now back to full health and took a break before taking on the role of Rebus again.
