Over the past few weeks, ITV viewers have seen young couple Aaron Sandford (played by James Craven) and Summer Spellman (Harriett Bibby) face a series of highs and lows in their relationship. However, in scenes set to air next week the Coronation Street couple could be about to take a huge step in their relationship.
It’s safe to say Aaron and Summer’s relationship hasn’t been the smoothest in the cobbles as the young couple has had their fair share of tests.
Recently, the pair came to blows when Summer learnt he had been texting his ex Mia, who had been having a hard time.
Unbeknownst to Summer, Aaron has also betrayed her in a way she could never imagine after he had too much to drink with her best friend Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney)
After Aaron and Amy shared a kiss before heading to the Bistro, things escalated when they returned back to the flat, before he had sex with her without her consent when she passed out.

Although Summer and Aaron have since made up, he’s begged Amy not to reveal what happened as he continues to insist the sex was consensual.
As Amy has kept quiet over the sexual assault, things may all be about to come out in upcoming scenes when Aaron urges Summer to make a big decision.
With Summer struggling to pay the rent, her boyfriend thinks it’s time for them to live together again to take some of the financial strain off of her.
Despite being taken aback by the proposal, Summer decides to think about it before making any concrete plans.
Coronation Street viewers previously saw Amy try and deter Summer from going to the same university as Aaron, wanting to distance her friend from the rapist.
If Summer turns to Amy for advice on whether or not she should accept Aaron’s offer, could viewers see her best friend confess Aaron raped her?
Elsewhere on the cobbles, Summer suggests to Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) it’s time for Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) to move in and give their relationship another go.
However, as Billy still believes it was Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) who assaulted Mike Hargrave (Tom Lorcan) after he took the blame to protect Paul, could their rekindled romance come to an abrupt end if the truth comes out?

Over the years, the three men have been involved in an ongoing love triangle with Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod teasing the trio are involved in big stories this upcoming year.
He said: “Romance is in the air for two of them, but I’ll leave you to guess which pair it might be.
“Historically there’s been strong feelings from both Team Todd and Billy or the other side with Team Paul and Billy.
“We’ve been back and forth for years and have picked a team, but whatever team ends up being the couple at the end, the story will be about the three of them.
“We see a lot of heart from Todd in places and a lot of deviance in places.
“We crash a huge story onto one of them, which causes former enemies to become best friends in secret.
“It’s a really interesting year for all of them and they’ll be at the centre of one of our biggest stories.”
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
