Coronation Street star Adam Little has announced he's left the ITV soap.

The actor joined the cast as Blake last year, first as a bully for Max Turner (Paddy Beaver) and he was more recently the central element in the show's far-right storyline.

Blake was finally served justice over the stabbing of Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) alongside his attempted murder of Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) in recent scenes.

Adam confirmed he was leaving the soap as Blake on social media earlier this week and went on to thank Corrie bosses for the opportunity.

Taking to Instagram, Adam penned: "Thank you to @coronationstreet for the opportunity to be a part of this storyline and play crazy man Blake!

"It’s been a blast working with such a friendly cast and crew who have made me so welcome.

"Thank you to all the viewers who have supported and sent me lovely messages it’s really appreciated."

One fan penned: "You were amazing on @coronationstreet."

Another added: "Smashed it lad. See you out there."

A third person said: "Amazing acting Adam. Good luck for your future journey."

While a fourth social media user wrote: "Well the quantity wasn’t there Adam but the quality more than made up for it mate. Hope to see your career soar to beyond your dreams buddy. Cheers."

In the recent shock stabbing scenes, Blake tried to disrupt Maria's meeting about the refugee drop-in centre with Max learning of his plan after tuning into a livestream.

While Max arrived at Speed Daal in time to issue a warning, he was stopped by Gary Windass (Mikey North).

Blake then charged at Maria, with Alya bravely stepping in the way to try and protect her, leading to her being stabbed in the stomach.

Alya has thankfully been on the mend since and is now recovering following the horrific ordeal.

Max, however, faces 15 years in prison for his involvement with the far-right group.
