Coronation Street spoiler: Killer Clayton Hibbs makes violent ESCAPE from prison guard at his dad's graveside
In upcoming scenes jailbird Clayton (Callum Harrison) is seen flanked by security at his dad Dane's graveside before his yob mates arrive and cut him free.
The louts attack his prison guards with spades and a crow bar as Clayton legs it across the cemetery to freedom and his mum screams for him to stop.
Photos from set show a violent scuffle ensues before he escapes between mourners and thugs.
Rev Billy does his best to stop one from letting Clayton loose and rugby tackles him to the floor.
Another snap from set reveals Clayton between his mate Cormac Macca and his mum Shona as the thug wields a shovel.
And before he makes a run for it, Clayton stops Cormac from whacking his mum.
Cops eventually arrive and arrest the thugs as Clayton makes his getaway, but poor Shona is also arrested.
Clayton and Shona last appeared on screen together in 2017, when she visited him prison.
The terrifying character has made his return 18 months after stabbing Kylie Platt to death.
But while his release is likely to only be temporary, his return could spell issue for mum Shona's relationship with David – the widower of murdered Kylie.
Late last year, Corrie boss Iain MacLeod confirmed that David Platt and Shona Ramsey's relationship will be thrown into question when Clayton returned to the soap.
Kylie's husband David ended up falling for Shona, not realising she was Clayton's mother.
