Coronation Street: Is Paul Foreman leaving?
In recent Coronation Street scenes, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) received a shocking diagnosis causing him to break down.
Paul had been unable to grip with his right hand for weeks leaving him unable to work.
After at first being told by doctor’s that they did not know what was wrong with him, on Wednesday, Paul’s Neurologist said that they wanted to send him to a specialist, that would test for Motor Neurone Disease.
So does the diagnosis mean that Paul will be leaving Weatherfield?
Let’s find out.
Is Paul leaving Coronation Street?
Motor Neurone Disease is a rare condition that affects the brain and spinal cord.
It is rapidly progressing and attacks the nerves that control movement, leaving the sufferer unable to move.
There is no cure for Motor Neurone Disease, meaning that Paul will eventually die of the condition.
It is, at present, unclear for how much longer Paul will appear in Coronation Street, as some people can live for years with the condition.
However, it is certain that Paul will be leaving the cobbles at some point.
After being told by his neurologist that he is likely to have MND, Paul begged her to tell him how long he will live.
The neurologist admitted that, although it can vary from person to person, most people live for less than three years after a diagnosis.
