Coronation Street: Stephen Reid commits second murder

Coronation Street viewers have seen Stephen Reid (played by Todd Biyce) kill three people since returning to Weatherfield last year.

Although some fans aren’t convinced that Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) was his first murder.

Last year, Leo discovered Stephen had been lying to the family in a bid to steal money from his mum Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls).

Threatening to call the police and out him for his scheming ways, a scuffle broke out and Stephen pushed him over the edge of a railing to his death.

Needless to say, the Canadian businessman was stunned to see his lifeless body on the floor, although one ITV viewer thinks his shocked reaction has another horrifying reason.

Taking to Reddit, user IloveNearmorethanL wrote: “Do you think for a crazy twist it could be revealed that Stephen has killed before when he’s been a businessman in other countries?

“Even though this is a bit of a bonkers idea and I kinda highly doubt Corrie would do this.

“I think it would actually be a pretty funny reveal if we find out that when he’s been in other countries doing his business exploits they’ve actually led to him killing other people in those other countries.

“Turns out he was hoping to leave all that behind him when he came to Weatherfield and that’s why he was so shocked with himself when he killed Leo by accident.”

Could it be possible that Stephen’s killed in multiple countries before arriving back to Weatherfield last year?

After Leo’s death, he went on to murder his father Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin) and then Rufus Donahue (Steve Meo).

However, he tried to strike for a fourth time as he attempted to end the life of his ex-fiance Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox).

Luckily, Elaine realised Stephen was up to no good and decided to flee Weatherfield after his lies.

Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod told the Loose Women panel earlier this year that fans will see justice with the killer soon.

He said: “It’s a soap, bad guys always get their comeuppance in the end, don’t they? 

“So yes, 100%. There’s a lot of fun to be had between now and then I will say.”

Will Stephen manage to claim the life of one more victim before being exposed?
