Channel 4 speaks out on claims Andrew Neil’s show is axed

Andrew Neil delivers verdict on Budget

Channel 4 has addressed the speculation that Andrew Neil’s show has been cancelled.

A spokesperson for the broadcaster said: “The Andrew Neil Show delivered matchless insight and analysis during a period of intense political turmoil.

“It is not true that it has been axed, a decision is yet to be made on a recommission in 2024.”

However, the veteran broadcaster shared an article from the Guardian on Twitter, where he seemed to “confirm” the news.

He tweeted: “Fair, accurate and authoritative report in the Guardian: Andrew Neil show is latest victim of Channel 4 cuts.”

Currently, there’s been a series of brutal cuts from the broadcaster as Channel 4 have also decided to pull Naked Attraction, Four Weddings, Scared of The Dark and Rescue: Extreme Medics.

It’s reported that the channel has run into funding issues with an insider calling the axes a “bloodbath”.

Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, the insider confessed the cuts have shocked everyone at the broadcaster.

They said: “Everyone is calling it a Channel 4 bloodbath. At first, everyone was in total shock when Four Weddings was cancelled.
