Caroline Flack clashes with Jameela Jamil over controversial series The Surjury
Jameela Jamil has sparked a row with yet another celebrity – this time, Caroline Flack.
The Love Island host has hit back at The Good Place actress after she criticised Flackers’ new series The Surjury.
In case you missed it, Caroline, 39, is the host of the upcoming Channel 4 series The Surjury, which will see people who want plastic surgery pitching their stories and requests to a group of strangers.
The jury will then decide who is granted their wishes to go under the knife.
Understandably, the show is extremely controversial even before it’s hit screens, and Jameela, 33, has something to say about it.
The activist shared an iNews article calling The Surjury ‘a new low for television’ and ‘dangerous and exploitative’ and tweeted: ‘Welp. Black Mirror is officially happening guys. It’s here.’
Jameela’s followers agreed, with one tweeting: ‘Did we not already go through this with The Swan and decide it was appalling?’ and another writing: ‘Fantastic. Like we really need more of this s*** to make us all feel inadequate.’
However, Caroline defended the show, and hinted that it wasn’t what we all thought.

The Love Island host replied: ‘Have you managed to see a copy before me ? Please forward .. am desperate to see..’
Channel 4 said of the show: ‘From bum-lifts to nose jobs, sculpted abs to breast enlargements, The Surjury allows people to explore their choices more thoroughly.’
While Ross McCarthy, executive producer for show creators Gobstopper Television, added: ‘This is a totally new way of doing peer-to- peer advice.
‘Our pitchers will either get the surgery they’ve always wanted, or a massive boost in confidence when the public rules they don’t need work at all!’
Channel 4 defended the premise amidst the controversy, saying: ‘Rather than wag a disapproving finger, this new series looks at who wants it, and why – and allows those who make a strong enough case to their peers, to undergo the procedure of their choice
‘The show will neither glamorise nor condemn their choices: the aim is instead to interrogate the realities.
‘All contributors featured in the series have actively been seeking surgery of their own accord.’
The Surjury airs in 2020 on Channel 4.
