Britney Spears chats on the phone as she drives around LA days after fans feared she was being 'held against her will' in rehab

BRITNEY Spears was spotted chatting on her phone while driving around LA days after her rehab release yesterday.

The sighting came after fans feared she had been "held against her will" in a mental health facility.

But despite their concerns, the 37-year-old singer looked in good spirits as she took a call.

She was also accompanied by a smiling male companion as she rode around town in her Mercedes G-Wagon.

It comes after boyfriend Sam Asghari picked her up from a mental health facility following her 30-day treatment last week.

The troubled superstar checked herself in after struggling to cope with her father Jamie's illness.

Although Britney has left the medical facility, doctors are reportedly still struggling to find the right combination of medication to keep her stable.

TMZ claim she's still in need of "intensive therapy" to help tackle fundamental issues relating to judgement and perspective.

But fans are convinced there is more to the story and have since launched the #FreeBritney campaign.

She also finally addressed the fan theories that she was being held against her will.

In an emotional video posted on Instagram, the singer thanked fans but said that rumours had "got out of control".

She said: "All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal.
