Bake Off 2019: Who is new Great British Bake Off contestant Henry? Age, job, Instagram
The Great British Bake Off returns for its third series on Channel 4 in 2019 with 13 new contestants ready to enter the famous tent. Henry is one of the new Bake Off contestants and will be hoping his culinary skills are enough to impress the likes of Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. Henry’s been a keen baker since just 12-years-old and loves experimenting with his creations.
Who is new Great British Bake Off contestant Henry?
Henry is a 20-year-old student from Durham who’ll be swapping the classroom for the GBBO tent.
A Bake Off fan since he was a youngster, Henry told Channel 4 he’s wanted to be on the show ever since series two when it was on the BBC.
Henry said: “They filmed it at the end of my road, so I used to see Paul Hollywood when I walked past the tent to go to school in the mornings, so I really got into it.”
The GBBO star regularly shares pictures of his bakes on his public Instagram page (see below) – @henryfabird.
Joining Bake Off is particularly special for Henry as he describes the process as “coming full circle”.
He said before the series began: “On the first day of filming, I told Paul that I remembered him filming at Valentine’s for series two,
“We had a chat about that and shared our memories of that time. So he knew I had come full circle and was now in the tent, and that was pretty special.”
Henry’s love of baking didn’t stop when moved to university and he often tests out his bakes on his housemates.
At just 20-years of age, Henry is one of the youngest GBBO contestants in 2019.
The entire line-up is the youngest the show has ever seen with an average age of 31.
Great British Bake Off 2019 will also welcome the following 12 bakers:
