Alison Hammond opens up on flirting ban as she talks Hugh Jackman
This Morning star Alison Hammond has opened up about flirting with celebrities on the show, as she feels like it is no longer acceptable to do so.
The 48 year old made a name for herself for her flirtatious chats with Hollywood stars Harrison Ford and Hugh Jackman, but now she has admitted that she has had to tone it down in recent times.
Alison’s chat with Huge in 2017 went viral for the chemistry that was on show between the pair, but the host now says that things “are not good” in the Hugh Jackman camp at the moment.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Alison explained: “Things are not good in the Jackman camp, but it’s not because of me… I feel quite bad for him as he’s had a really long marriage, but I just love that man.
“He’s one of those guys who gives an interview 100%. I’ll never forget it. We’ve been flirty so many times, but you can’t flirt nowadays. You’ve got to be careful.”
When the pair sat down for the chat six years ago, they enjoyed a bottle of bubbly and some olives, and Hugh was full of compliments for Alison.
At the time, Hugh said: “You are without doubt, over the years, the best person to interview me. I always find it amazing.”
The 55 year old also added: “I’m not retiring, by the way, so we can have many more of these dates.”
Now reflecting on that interview, Alison also told the publication: “I’ve done so many interviews with Hugh, so I thought, ‘Let’s have a date’. Then I pulled off this sheet, and there were these olives, and he started feeding me them with a cocktail stick."
Back in September, it was confirmed that Hugh and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, 67, have split after nearly 30 years of marriage.
The former couple share two children together, Ava, 18, and Oscar, 23.
In a joint statement released at the time, the couple said: “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together in a wonderful, loving marriage.
“Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”
Alison has been working on This Morning for ten years, and in recent times, has become a regular host as the search for Holly Willoughby ’s replacement continues.
