Alexandre O. Philippe Signs With WME Ahead Of Sundance Bow Of ‘Memory: The Origins Of Alien’
EXCLUSIVE: Alexandre O. Philippe, whose latest documentary Memory: The Origins of Alien about the untold story behind Ridley Scott’s Alien is having its world premiere Thursday at the Sundance Film Festival, has signed with WME.
The deal, which includes Philippe’s company Exhibit A Pictures and partners Kerry Deignan Roy and Robert Muratore, is for representation in all areas.
Philippe’s credits include 78/52: Hitchcock’s Shower Scene, the 2017 documentary dissecting the iconic movie’s most famous scene; 78/52 also had its premiere at Sundance. He also directed the 2014 zombie culture documentary Doc of the Dead and 2010’s The People vs. George Lucas.
Memory bows in the festival’s Midnight section Thursday at 9:45 PM local time at the Egyptian Theatre. Its focus begins with Dan O’Bannon’s original never-finished 1971 script for what was to become Scott’s Aliens — an idea that merged myths, comic books, H.P. Lovecraft and plenty else to weave what eventually would be considered one of the best sci-fi movies of all time. The docu features archival material, designs and story notes.
Philippe continues to be managed by Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
