Adele is unrecognisable in fancy dress as George Michael as best friend posts throwback to mark 33rd birthday
ADELE's best pal Laura Dockrill marked the acclaimed singer's 33rd birthday with a hilarious Instagram tribute today.
The Hello hitmaker looked worlds away from her usual red carpet displays as she transformed into Faith-era George Michael for a fancy dress party while author Laura channelled movie character Beetlejuice.
Laura hilariously paid tribute to her BFF in the caption and wrote: "Make sure you BFF with someone that also goes to fancy dress parties not dressed as a sexy cat.
"Fulfil the brief. Nail the assignment. (Flat shoes for life) I love you so much happy birthday".
Adele has made no secret about her love for George having performed his 1996 hit Fastlove at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
The star abruptly cut the performance short after she paused, swore into the microphone, and asked the show’s producers to give her a complete do-over.
She said on-stage at the time: "I'm sorry for swearing and I'm sorry for starting again. I can't mess this up for him. I'm sorry, I can't.'
Speaking about her feelings towards the song, she said: "When the video came out for that, I was blown away by how f—ing hot he was.
"It's actually quite exceptional how good-looking he was."
Adele later discussed the moment she learnt of George's death on Christmas Day in 2016 at his home in Goring-on-Thames, aged 53.
The singer shared: "I actually had to go for a walk on my own and just breathe for a while."
The post comes after Adele was spotted celebrating Daniel Kaluuya's Oscar win for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah last month at an afterparty in LA.
The night out followed her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki and after the 32-year-old singer lost seven stone in weight.
Actress Amber Chardae Robinson took to her Instagram Story following the awards show to share a selfie with the singer.
The Grammy Award winner appeared happy as she grinned for the snap wearing a full face of make-up.
Another partygoer shared a video on Instagram of Adele standing near the bar with a drink in her hand.
The video was captioned: "Adele said social distancing."
The singer showed off her amazing figure as she stunned in a lime green coat with feather trim sleeves.
Adele, who has been keeping a low profile lately, was seen laughing and dancing with pals and fellow A-listers including Drake at the bash thought to have been thrown at a private house.
In March it was announced the mother of one has finalized her $194million divorce with ex-husband Simon.
Adele and Simon married in a secret ceremony in 2017.
The agreement came two years after the singer announced they had decided to split.
