Xabi Alonso to be promoted to boss of Real Madrid's Juvenil A team as he follows same path as Zinedine Zidane
LIVERPOOL legend Xabi Alonso is reportedly set for a promotion under new Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
Marca claims Alonso will be promoted from youth coach to head of Real’s Juvenil A side.
Zidane is said to have been impressed by Alonso’s work since the former midfielder turned his hand to coaching.
Zizou wants a new system installed at Real after returning to the club on a three-year deal last month.
And he feels Alonso is the perfect man to lead Los Blancos’ kids to glory.
Also set for a promotion is Real icon Raul, currently working with Real’s Juvenil B team.
He is expected to be made manager of the Castilla side, the team Zidane coached before he led the senior side to three consecutive Champions League titles.
It means there will be no return to the club for axed interim boss Santiago Solari, who was in charge of Castilla before he was drafted in to replace Julen Lopetegui earlier this season.
And Marca adds that Roberto Carlos will also be offered a position in the new-look set-up.
Zidane is also hoping for an upheaval in playing staff too, with Chelsea’s Eden Hazard his top target.
Real are also looking at Blues teammate Kepa Arrizabalaga as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
While Paul Pogba could be tempted to move to the Bernabeu as well.
